Project :

I was tasked with creating something I was interested in and working on it every day for 30 days. I chose to redesign some of my favorite movie posters.

The Process :

I started with creating sketches of my designs and really trying to get a feel for what I wanted to do. From there I cropped out photos and added the background and foreground images. I then added lighting shadows to all my elements and finished in Camera raw where I color graded my designs.

The Actual Design :

For the actual design I wanted to take important things from the movies and add them to my designs. Starting with my “Cast Away” design I added the plane crash, Wilson, and some left over boxes that fell off the plane. I made sure to use the light source on the left and add it to all elements and create shadows with the water. For the “Fight Club” design, I wanted to show off the Narrator and Tyler Duren and show off the buildings at the end of the movie to foreshadow in the poster. For “The Hangover” graphic I wanted to create an action movie type of poster with the Vegas skyline in the front and the 4 main characters in the skyline. For my “Truman Show” design I wanted to show the fact that Truman is stuck in the show. I showed this by having the character who runs the show and Truman behind him on a TV. For my “Here Comes The Boom” graphic I wanted to have a fighter like poster which is applicable to the movie since in the movie he becomes a fighter to save the music program at his school.
